More About Kevin

When you step into therapy with me, my hope is for you to feel confident, empowered, and fully accepting of yourself and your experiences. I aim to support you in facing life’s challenges without needing to turn away or avoid difficult emotions. Together, we’ll work toward acknowledging what you’re going through, empowering you with the necessary skills and strengthening your belief that you can navigate and overcome whatever life presents.

What To Expect From Our Work Together

Once we’ve built trust, I bring a direct approach that balances honesty, humor, patience, and steady support. I hold people accountable to their goals while moving at a pace that feels comfortable for each person. Therapy, in my view, should always be tailored to your unique needs and go at your own pace. I bring laughter and levity to our sessions when appropriate, creating a space that feels both safe and approachable. With experience in mindfulness meditation, I can assist with your own practice and the use of mindfulness as part of your journey. Drawing on my background in DBT, CBT and ACT, I can offer practical, solution-oriented strategies when they’re wanted and warranted, ensuring our work is grounded in both reflection and action.

My practice is queer-affirming, kink-friendly, and open to nontraditional relationship & family structures. I am committed to dismantling racism, sexism, ableism, classism, transphobia, homophobia and other oppressive systems. I strive to create a space that validates and supports each client’s unique lived experience with an attitude that each person is the expert of their own life.

I’m a strength-based therapist, and I believe in celebrating each step forward while acknowledging nuance and the non-linear progression of healing. As we work together, I’ll help you recognize your own strengths and appreciate the progress you’re making along the way.

What You Need to Know About Me

I love coffee, biking around Chicago, hanging with my dog, gaming, taking care of my plants and making music. I grew up in Oak Park, IL, earned an engineering degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before pursuing my Master of Arts in Clinical Social Work at the University of Chicago. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a pedicab driver and a teaching artist, which taught me a lot about connecting with people from all walks of life.
