More About Josh

I’m passionate about helping people achieve authenticity and connection. We all hit roadblocks that leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to create warm and affirming space where we can work together to identify those barriers and push past them. Progress is not always linear, and it’s okay to feel adrift. But I love doing this work because I believe healing and constructive change are possible. I know therapy is hard and sometimes intense work, but I hope you come away from sessions feeling more hopeful and truly seen.

What To Expect From Our Work Together

My approach is psychodynamic and person-centered, which means a lot of therapy might involve drawing out unconscious thoughts to determine how they might be affecting your day-to-day functioning. I love learning about clients’ strengths, passions, and goals, and I believe in counseling from a strengths-based approach. You deserve to love who you are and who you’re becoming, and I’m excited to be in your corner through the process.

What You Need To Know About Me

I am currently working toward my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Northwestern University. I also have a master’s degree in English composition and public rhetoric from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am passionate about advocating for and providing support to LGBTQIA+ communities and individuals, especially as we navigate a culture that seeks to exclude or disconnect us.

In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading (and setting unrealistic reading goals), and generally unwinding wherever there’s coffee. I sporadically enroll in pilates classes, where I try very hard, often to mixed results.
