How I Can Help
First Things First
I recognize that while all living beings are connected in some way, each person brings with them unique experiences and knowledge that has led us to this present moment together. I aim to understand you as your own individual in order to support you in building a life that you find meaningful and worth living. Together, we will consider how different aspects of your identity interact with each other and your environment in order to figure out effective ways to reach your goals.
What To Expect From Our Work Together
My therapeutic style is warm and authentic – it’s important that you know you are being heard and seen by another person who genuinely cares. Through collaboration and trust, I provide a non-judgmental space that is safe for you to explore your own thoughts, actions and emotions. Safe doesn’t always mean comfortable, so at times I may challenge you to embrace the discomfort of feeling your feelings, and I will be right there with you along the way.
My DBT-Informed approach offers much flexibility based on your needs and goals. You can expect me to gently nudge you towards holding multiple truths at the same time in the same space, as oftentimes our beliefs about what is “right”, “wrong”, “good”, or “bad” can cause ourselves a lot of suffering. Whether you are looking to change your habits, improve your relationships, be understood, or anything in-between, I’m so grateful to support you on your own journey.
What You Need to Know About Me
I love to nerd out on the history and culture of underground house and techno music – it’s this passion that brought me to Chicago in the first place! If I’m not out dancing and celebrating this music, I’m probably at home cuddling with my cat daughter, Pookie, playing a cozy video game, or enjoying a deep conversation with my loved ones over some good food.
I received my BS in Human Development & Family Studies and Certificate in Business from University of Wisconsin-Madison. After working with the unhoused population in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, I attended Alder University where I received by MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
