More About Ashton
I believe that mindful self-exploration is the key to living an authentic and fulfilling life. Experiences from our past impact our experiences of today and leave us feeling out of alignment with our true selves. Through my own therapeutic relationships, both as client and clinician, I have seen the importance of a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space for connecting you with the best version of you. If you’re looking to be more present in your human experience, reach out today.
What to Expect From Our Work Together
Let’s talk shop—I work from a client centered perspective, meaning you are the authority on your own life and experiences. Using humor, curiosity, and transparency, I meet you where you are at. I deeply believe in an equal commitment from both client and therapist in the work we do together. Through an individualized approach, I will help you identify and achieve your goals, while smashing the roadblocks in your way.
In addition, I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to holistically address and process through past trauma. This type of therapy targets the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations associated with difficult memories. Through a combination of mindfulness, creative visualization, desensitization, and reprocessing, EMDR helps reduce distress that is affecting your everyday life. EMDR therapy empowers you to get in touch with your inner healer. I am ready to support you on that journey.

What you Need to Know About Me
So, who am I? I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where I developed a deep appreciation for Southern food. On weekends you can find me mindfully cooking in my kitchen, trying to replicate the perfect biscuit, the best fried okra, and truly excellent collard greens.
Other favorite activities include hot yoga and spending time with my dog and loved ones. My not at all guilty pleasure is watching horror movies. Good, bad, the quality is not important, I am an equal opportunity viewer.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have my BS in Psychology and my Master’s in Counseling from Northwestern University. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and a trained EMDR practitioner. I cherish all my clinical relationships and feel lucky to work in a field where there are endless opportunities for further education and self-growth.
